Legal Advertisement 1.1 Sealed Bids Will Be Received

LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT 1.1 SEALED BIDS will be received by the City of Trenton, Ohio until 10:00 a.m. (local time) on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in the Court Room at the City Building, 11 East State Street, Trenton, Ohio 45067-1439, and publicly opened and read at that hour and place. Any bids received after this time will be returned to the bidder unopened. 1.2 SCOPE OF WORK to be performed under this improvement shall generally consist of resurfacing various asphalt streets within the City. Work includes milling existing pavement, repairing base as necessary, overlaying the streets with asphalt and other associated roadway-related items. The total quantity of work is approximately 35,000 square yards of asphalt resurfacing. 1.3 THE ABOVE IMPROVEMENT shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents. The City of Trenton reserves the right to reject any or all bids in accordance with the Contract Documents. The City of Trenton reserves the right to add to or to subtract from the contract quantities. The City of Trenton also reserves the right to hold all proposals for sixty (60) days. 1.4 PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS can be obtained from the City of Trenton, 11 East State Street, Trenton, Ohio, Monday through Friday, beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2020. A fee of $10.00, non-refundable, will be charged for each set of Contract Documents. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the City of Trenton. Copies of the Bidding Documents may also be examined at the Dayton Builders Exchange and the McGraw Hill Construction Dodge Plan Room in Columbus. 1.5 EACH BIDDER is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty (10% of the Bid Amount) and Contract Bond (100% of the Bid Amount) in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. 1.6 EACH BID PROPOSAL must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. 1.7 BIDDERS must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Butler County and the City of Trenton as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239. 1.8 BIDS shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope identified as "2020 Trenton Local Paving Program" and MUST HAVE THE FULL NAME AND ADDRESS of the bidder on the envelope. 8-30, 9-6/2020
