NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PY 2019 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS MIAMI COUNTY, OHIO The Board of Miami County Commissioners intends to apply to the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) for funding under the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, a federally funded program administered by the State of Ohio. The County is eligible for approximately $3 million of Program Year (PY) 2019 CDBG funding, providing the County meets applicable program requirements. The first of two (or more) public hearings will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 1:35 p.m. in the Commissioners' Hearing Room, Safety Building, 201 W. Main Street, Troy, Ohio to provide citizens with pertinent information about the CDBG Program including an explanation of eligible activities, program requirements and application deadlines. The CDBG Program can fund a broad range of activities, including economic development projects; street, water supply, drainage and sanitary sewer improvements; demolition of unsafe structures, rehabilitation of housing; public services; and improvements to neighborhood facilities. The activities must be designed to primarily benefit low to moderate income persons, aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight, or meet an urgent need of the community. The following CDBG programs are available to Miami County: PROGRAM AVAILABLE FUNDS 1. Community Development Allocation Program $ 175,000 2. Neighborhood Revitalization Program $ 500,000 3. Residential Public Infrastructure Program $ 750,000 4. Economic Development Public Infrastructure Program $ 500,000 5. Downtown Revitalization Program $ 300,000 6. Critical Infrastructure Program $ 500,000 7. Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program $ 400,000 8. New Horizons Fair Housing Program $ 30,000 9. Target of Opportunity Grant Program $ 500,000 The primary focus of this first public hearing is to inform citizens about Miami County's PY 2019 Community Development Allocation Program, Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program, Critical Infrastructure Program, Downtown Revitalization Program, and Neighborhood Revitalization Program. A second public hearing will be held prior to the County's submittal of grant applications for the CDBG Community Development Allocation Program and any other Programs for which the County may apply. The State application deadline for the Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program is expected to be May 3, 2019. The State deadline for the Community Development Allocation Program, Critical Infrastructure Program, Downtown Revitalization Program, and Neighborhood Revitalization Program applications is anticipated to be June 16, 2019. Citizens are encouraged to attend this public hearing on Thursday, February 7, 2019 to provide their input on the County's CDBG Programs. The Miami County Safety Building is a handicapped accessible facility.
